Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB)

Internet banking

The clientele of the Bank requires the facility of managing their accounts from any computer and only through the Internet browser. They do not want to be tied to a single computer, as is the case of the Homebanking product, where the application with a certificate, providing the digital signature feature, is installed. Also, they do not want to use expensive, complicated and uncomfortable authentication tools (optical keys, authentication calculator). Clearly, these requirements cannot be conformed with fully, particularly in the unsecured Internet environment of Internet cafés and the like, where the computer configurations cannot be relied upon.
Currently, we are developing a security system which would comply both with the security requirements, and with the required portability called for by clients.

ČSOB Homebanking

For the needs of the ČSOB Homebanking product, the security of four separate environments had to resolved. First of all, this entailed the Internet network where client PCs are located, secondly internal PVT network, thirdly internal ČSOB network and finally the telecommunications network of the RadioMobil company. The complexity of the solutions was governed by the need to provide a high level of security, accessible in the 24/7 regime, securing a high level of confidentiality of the transmitted data and rendering any unauthorized modifications inoperative.
The security documentation dealt with the security of the entire system, starting with the user´s workstation and ending with the server environment.

Data Protection

PVT has designed, created, tested and made operational applications dealing with the comprehensive protection of data transmitted in the ČSOB networks, inclusive of data received from external sources and external suppliers. The security is provided throughout the passage of the data from the source to its target, the degree of protection is governed by the data sensitivity (confidential data and data comprising banking secrets). In addition to protecting the specific files stated above, this also entails security of data in the automated office system (e-mails and Internet access).

ASKO Project

By providing information on companies and ČSOB products (inclusive of model yield calculations and comparisons with competitive products), the ASKO project currently provides information support for selling the ČSOB products at all the Bank´s branches, including the printing of a complete portfolio of contracts and other documentation.

Pilot operations of ITPS Security Documentation

The information terminal of Poštovní spořitelna is an information system intended for the retail clientele (account information) and for static needs of the bank, which will be providing the service.
The solution draws on experiences gained in the IPB Homebanking product and focuses on safeguarding high confidentiality of transmitted data, whilst retaining the accessibility of the services provided. The features of the solution were based on the need to secure data integrity and confidentiality of information terminals positioned in public areas of the Bank. The pilot operations of terminals is currently going to the fully operational stage.

Securing Implementation, Pilot and Nation-Wide Operations of the MAXKARTA Chip Cards

PVT was involved in the implementation, pilot and nation-wide operations for ČSOB, Poštovní spořitelna division, the MAXKARTA project.
